MIT + TAAFT

Where Is AI Being Used?

A research team headed by Professor Thomas Malone at MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence set out to answer one of the big open questions in AI. Not what AI is capable of, but where it’s being used right now across nearly 20,000 tasks.

The paper maps thousands of AI apps and will give you a detailed picture of where AI shows up in the workplace.

TAAFT supplied the software-side dataset for this research, a curated catalog of AI apps plus metadata on pricing, popularity, and how each tool is used.

For founders, the research also highlights activities AI could handle but no one's built a dedicated tool for yet.

It's one thing to track AI tools every day. It's another to see that data put through rigorous academic analysis and turned into something this useful.
